When post-independence Indian history will be written , the decade plus years following year 2000 or start of the new millenium will be seen as an era of darkness, of mind boggling corruption and sell-off of the country ..... all by an elected Govt ...and under the guise of Economic Liberalisation or serving the poor . A period when every democratic institution was undermined; nation's enemies captured but protected for vote-bank sake; of mafias allowed to rule every business; of the world's largest democracy verging towards autocracy or call it oligarchy, mafiadom or anachy or even disguised dictatorship.
Govt claims "India is rising", with deception at the heart of this publicity campaign. Even after 65 years of Independence, majority Indians are still kept deprived and desperate . Most Indians still struggle to obtain basic public services that wealthier , more secure countries take for granted . The total slum population of the country, which was 7.52 crore in 2001, has grown to 9.3 crore in 2011 (the NSSO-National Sample Survey Organisation report ). Same time, Illegal outflows from the country grew exponentially and in just five years from 2004-08 alone, the country lost roughly Rs.4.3 lakh crores to such outflows (GFI report). The average politician in India is least bothered about the nation or the anguish and resentment of the aam aadmi.
Indians rise up please . What are you waiting for ? Atleast speak up. Cairo's Tahrir Square has shown us much . It is clear that our leaders have not learnt any lesson from the Jantar Mantar protests and will do nothing to regain the trust of the aam aadmi. ASK YOURSELF -If no one has raised a finger against any of the members whom the Union government has nominated on the Lok pal panel, why on earth should the integrity of those on the other side be questioned by those in power ? Why are they trying to scuttle the PAC report ? Why isn't the CBI being made an independent body ?Why is there still no real action by the Govt on the black money trail, the 2G money trail , the CWG money trail ? Where has all that money gone? What about the tax evasion matters connected to 2G , Nira Radia etc ? Why aren't the Adarsh missing files being located or the building being demolished and land being returned ? Why isnt the illegitimate wealth of those accused attached or atleast frozen ?What about the tens of thousands of hectares of public land that have been given away to corporations for commercialisation in the guise of airport development, construction of highways, creation of Special Economic Zones and so on, at prices that are less than 10 per cent of the value of those tracts of land.Somewhere in the world, every day, some of those who have suffered begin to feel less afraid, and some of those who have caused suffering begin to be more afraid of the change that may yet come. Small acts of resistance matters . You must ressist the corrupt system that is consuming our country like cancer.
Corruption has killed the morality of this nation and made each one of us- the 'aam aadmi' suffer and even become desperate . Civil society or every Indian /aam aadmi must act now to stop this rape and loot of his motherland .Acts of defiance by common citizens, acting individually or in groups, have already helped to bring about radical change in politically corrupt regimes, and in doing so created a new moral order. We can do it in India too and create a new moral order ..... atleast for the sake of the next generation . We all must act....... in a small way atleast .
