"CIVIC SENSE " -Y IT SHOULD BE DISCUSSED EVERYDAY

In terms of ‘civic sense’ among its citizens - every city , town and living clusters are going from bad to worse each day . What is the use  of makng economic progress for statistics if we cannot improve the quality of our lives ? Is having a big mansion and money in the bank account but living in filthy surroundings, quality living   ? Unfortunately , many of us Indians think so . And for them outside of “ me , my family and my home “ , everything and everybody is irrelevant   and that is a very poor ATTITUDE & way of thinking , if living in a progressive society . 

THIS IS ONE FACTOR THAT IS GOING TO HOLD BACK INDIAS'  PROGRESS IN A BIG WAY , UNLESS IT IS ADDRESSED SERIOUSLY AT ALL LEVELS , STARTING FROM SCHOOL LEVELS . 

For majority of us Indians it is not a problem - so we ourselves create it and then live with it .Today living in filthy surrounding is acceptable to us because it has sunk into our subconcious attitudes . This attitude goes all the way upto accepting anything wrong within the country and then blaming the govt , instead of we doing something about it or atleast making a noise about it  .

With all due respect to all  who are sensitive to this topic ,let me ask  1 question : If you are sensitive about  100 or just 100,000 people  reading a SAD FACT being discussed about our countrymen - a fact  which I know  is not a great compliment or something we can be proud of ,  why arnt WE upset when the whole world speaks about this 1 factor about India- about the lack of CIVIC SENSE and CLEANLINESS.What are we doing about changing this stigma attached to India &  Indians  ?

If even talking about this topic  in public make us feel so bad , WHY  IS IT NOT TREATED AS A MAJOR PROBLEM AND BEING ADDRESSED AT ANY LEVEL? Why isn’t the media devoting any time for it ? Why do you also want to push it under the carpet ?   If Indians didnt accept it and felt it was a real problem , we would have done something about it . Like Americans are now doing about the correction required on Wall Street . Executives from top banks are being hauled up in Senate with proceedings TELECAST WORLD-WIDE. And we want to hide something that is going to cost our country very dearly in the long run  ?

THE best way to tackle this malice in our society is by discussing it openly &  making people aware - aware to the point where they become conscious that its a serious issue that has a ECONOMIC AND HUMAN COST and will ultimately hold back progress of the country .

We all do a lot of stupid things knowingly , but only when the calling comes from deep within us we change .To remove that accepatnce levels from deep within & out of subconscious levels of majority Indians , will require a lot of talking/ discussing /debating / televising /teaching / printing /shouting / demonstarting on a dialy basis regarding this 1 topic ,by individuals / institutions/ corporates/ media/govt agencies  . Only then it is going to happen For sure then it will happen .
